The good and the ugly

Well I finally got it done and over with. My application went in last night and I was soooo nervous. This morning I checked my mail (with wishful thinking) and what do ya know?!
I got accepted!!!! YAY I got one of the longest emails ever but it still said "your student visa was accepted" so happy

Oh well.
Anyone have any good party games? I am planning our annual party with friends from high school, and I think movies and this game with exchanging presnets by numbers. But what else?
It's getting frusterating because at the begining I asked if anyone wanted to help plan (not to make people feel left out) and so my friend said she would.

well now it is at her place, and she is freaking out cause she thinks I have no plans. I don't get her at all. And she is driving me insane.

I think it will all work out, and hey I'll learn for next year, have it at my house and change a bunch of stuff.

well if ya have any idears let me know :)

Have a merry Christmas people :)

Hating the internet

All I can say is yikes.
I was applying online for my student visa a few days ago and I finally finished. I was just putting in the last details. Then I clicked the next button and *POOF*. A page comes up and says 'page cannot be displayed' or something like that.

This means I don't know if my visa application went through or not.
It also said at the bottom of the page if you click more than once you could be charged more than once per application.

All I can say is oh crap.

I hope it went through, otherwise it might be another hour of sitting infront of the computer with numbers and personal info going out and desperately hoping that I'm not charged twice!!!

Oi!!! I don't need this kind of stress!!

oh well. Today I will phone the visa company and HOPEFULLY find out.

arg.

Australia!!!

Wow this whole entire year has gone by so fast! In two months I will be in Australia and getting things together for school.

I also found out after re-reading some stuff that our outreach will be in either Ethiopia, the South Pacific islands, East Malaysia and I think that's it.

right now I am really stupendously bored. I don't know what to do but update a blog. and this is usually a last resort for me haha

Well until the next time.
Goodbye :)

Snow Day!

Well today was a doozey. First off, Miranda woke me up at 5am to tell me that she couldn't get to work because there was so much snow, then Mikaela had a snow day from school, and my dad even stayed home. And to top things off Tony was over for the weekend and he stayed another night beucase school was closed the next day (UBC had no power today). So today felt like one extra saturday. I love weekends.

Today was bitterly cold outside, and there was about 2 feet of snow. To top things off it was pretty windy. But it was still gorgeous. And dad even got some pictures of it.
Later this week we are supposed to get more snow too.
yay for snow!!!

Plans in Progess (finally!!)

Well things are finally in motion about going to Australia. I got an awesome backpack, and my plane ticket ready to go.
The crazy thing is that I miss monday almost completely when I go because of the time difference. haha I leave Sunday Feb 11th and arrive on the 13th.
This will be the second plane trip for me and yikes this time it's all by myself.
Anyone got any tips for a brand-new traveller?

Anyways, I am going to run and leave it at that.

Australia Here I come!

I was finally accepted into YWAM Brisbane Australia. I get to go there for 6 months starting Feb.14th 2007!!!

I am still in shock.

AND I AM SO EXTATIC!!!

Oh the stuff

New stuff happening:

--canned more salsa and tomatoes and no creepy spiders! YAY!
--being a youth leader is pretty cool so far
--going to the states in a couple weeks (hope it goes well)
--I am a survivor watcher - so far it's messed up but pretty funny
--I want to go on a hike somewhere :P haha
--I can never get my berry pies to thicken properly :( Try as I might I have only gotten one pie ever to work.

and post-it notes rock! I have them all over now hahaha

The picture is of Smiffy our fat cat, my cat is the lovely white one. My theory > Smiff eats all the food, my white cat is getting thinner because Smiff gaurds her troff... sick (that is if the picture actually works grrr. I might add it tomorrow)

Anywho, have a good night :)

Youtube videos!

A couple of days ago Miranda made an account on YouTube.com ---- she added some of my videos, so now it's our account :)

If you want to check out our videos (including dancing with Fred, and Worms) look up jamesblonde85 on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=jamesblonde85) That's us :)

The wormy videos are of my friends and myself on a sleepover-- we woke up in weirdo moods so take a peek.
The other videos are of Fred the Fierce -- the spider we found in the traumatic canning experience.

I hope you enjoy! Oh and tell me if you watch them! I want to know what you think hahaha.

Canning to Extremes

You would think canning to be a uneventful- boring thing to do.... little do you know... *shivers*
It all started when my mom asked Miranda and myself to clean out the jars (that were kept in the shed) for canning the next day. Well we get the jars, clean about half, then see this Godzilla of Spiders in one of the jars. Well I can easily say that I am no friend of spiders. They creep me out to no end. This spider was massive -- I could not easily touch the unsealed jar -- even when I thought it was dead. Yes this spider was alive still. Well that is where the fun began.
Miranda instantly thought of the camera -- to take video proof of the evilness of this critter.

So we grab a seal - seal it .... then the fun started. While we were cleaning we were pumping up the tunes, and dancing with "Fred" and "Frieda" (there was two spiders in there but one was dead- I think they had a fight to the death, Fred won) After some heavy duty dancing I think Fred got brain damage - we put him outside - he died shortly after.
RIP Fred -- uh... not, that thing was a menace to society.

Well, that was the intense part of it. Although, dropping tomatoes, and having them slide everywhere was fun. I love tomatoes. I think I will leave it at that.

Road Trip to Edmonton!!!

Well I just got back today from a 5 day road trip with two really good friends of mine. We went to Edmonton to go to the mall and see all about it -- it was awesome.
We also camped the 4 nights in this campground area and that wasn't too bad. We actually live to tell about it now.

One night there was a thunder storm that lasted a good 3 hours, and it surrounded us completely (oh ya and it struck about every 10-15 seconds). So I stayed up until about 1:30 am and then descided to go to sleep and as soon as I did so there was this huge lightening that hit somewhere in the campground. So needless to say my friends and I were up really really fast and we did feel the ground shake. Now that is one night I don't think I'll forget for a very long time.

The next night, we heard some yelling way after midnight and someone was saying fire, so I am awake and kinda creeped out because fire in tents or trailers is nasty, but no it wasn't in a tent or trailer it was by the oil well that was a short distance away... YIKES! So 2 big firtrucks come in and check it out. I didn't hear much about it the next morning though so I don't know what happened.

Here's a couple random points:
--- Edmonton is screwed up the way they set up the city
--- The SUV we took had good mileage haha
--- Bring a really large tarp camping - it makes things so nice and dry!
--- Digital cameras can capture lightening pretty well
--- I have yet to post pictures :P

Camping is pretty interesting in thunder storms.... hey camping is pretty interesting everywhere.
That was one awesome road trip if I do say so myself. And I only said those couple stories

Well I am off for now.

The First of hopefully many

Well, I have no clue where to start really. I have a bunch of family that have blogs so I thought to make one for myself.

For the last few months I have been working at Stillwood Camp and it has been amazing! The staff are awesome to be around and it is so much fun. I am in charge of the girls in 'work-crew' (and I am the facility crew leader too) and it can get pretty challenging at times. Two more weeks are left and they are going to be the most challenging yet.

Well my sister is kicking me off the computer now so I have to get going.
